I am now heading out without braces and with glasses. I am the only child at home and I don't really want to leave. I am someone who absolutely loves hospitals and basically wants to live in one. I am not scared of the campus that actually is pretty small at Millbrook. I am ready to get used to the ECU campus. I am carrying a passport with a few stamps and I have a plan to get some more. I am not worried about leaving my friends as I know I can still be there for them. I am not best friends with my middle school best friend. I am someone who learned from dating in high school and know the pros and cons of dating someone for short term. I am sure I have become somewhat of a better person through my experience in high school.
I will be someone who continues to learn throughout my whole life. I will be someone who continues to work my hardest. I will be someone who appreciates literature and puns :P even though that hasn't changed through high school. I will be someone who like Whitman can truly say "I am large. I contain multitudes". I will be open minded. I will not allow a title to define who I am. I will not be a stereotypical American / first world country citizen and think of only myself. I will devote my life to service. Oh and I will succeed :)
P.S. If you are reading this for posting comments... Here are some funny memes that will give you some good advice!
DONT SKIP CLASSES CHILDREN
CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS WISELY
BE CONFIDENT IN YOOOOSELF
DON'T TAKE LIFE TOO SERIOUSLY
This was great Jenna! I really liked the format you took for this post. You clearly showed how your past affected the present, and how the present will affect your future. The memes were probably my favorite part about this post, no lie haha. Great job!
ReplyDeleteHey Jenna!
ReplyDeleteI really love how your formatted your blog! I think it is really unique in that it details who you once were, who you are now, and who you will be. Specifically, I like how you contrasted who you used to be with who you are- high school really changes people and I am glad I was able to see you grow as a human being. I can relate to what you said in this blog post, because I was also afraid I would get lost on the "huge" campus, but now I know Millbrook like the back of my hand. This just shows you how influential time is, and that while we may be scared or worried abut something in the future, it will always work out- it always does. Anyways, your blog was very thoughtful and inspirational- I know you will continue to learn and work hard in all situations! I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for you!
I love this post! I agree with Kirami and Nicole as well. We learn a lot about who we are and who we want to be in high school. I hate to dwell on the memes, but I like how you used them to create overall messages which are so true and important. Honestly I might take pictures of them to have them to look at when I need some inspiration:). Awesome post from an awesome person! So thankful that I have been able to have classes with you and get to know the amazing Jenna!
ReplyDeleteJenna,
ReplyDelete(First of ditto to the girls above me) I just wanted to use this comment to let you know that it has been great getting to know you over the course of our time in IB. I loved your post and I loved the optimism you displayed in contrasting what you were, to what you are, with a little bit of what you're going to be. I can't wait to hear all about the great things you do in the future. (BTW, the memes were pretty great)
Somehow, this is PRETTY reflective of what I and I'm sure most of us experienced through High School. A complete and total transformation, if not in our ideals, atleast in our approach to life. We'll change a lot more for the rest of our lives but I think we're all about to complete a very large period of change for our first times. Thanks for making me reflect on that Jenna. All these final blog posts are making me emotional. :<
ReplyDeleteAwesome post! Really cool! Very creative! i liked how you effectively showed your past and your future. Well done.
